I worked last Saturday so on Monday i got the first half of the day off. Then i met up with my school friend. She is the only one i’m keeping in touch with among all the others. Seriously. Not like i’m very cruel but it’s just that they are everywhere! Some in England, some in Australia, one in Tasmania, One in Scotland, one in Ireland… etc How to meet up?

So we met up in Times Square and we walked to Pavillion. We had lunch at Ichiban Boshi… very ichiban indeed. If any of you plan to go there eat, make sure you have the “unagi sandwich”. It’s Tamago (egg) as the “bread” and Unagi as the meat. For the Unagi they put the sauce and little bit of mayo. So nice!

Then we catch up on our lives, know what each other is doing, talk about school (we always end up talking about this every single time we met without fail), people we know, movies, her studies, our holidays, future holidays, music, gigs… and some random stuff

It’s always good to meet up old friends again. We both think we didn’t change much (in terms of character/attitude) because our other friends have changed. One of them is married. I am still shock even after knowing this for half a year. Apparently it was an arrange marriage. This thing still exist ar? Then now she is studying ACCA, she didn’t want to take this but her dad wants her to so she have no choice (so sad, she can’t’ even choose what she want to study). So last solution if she fail her exam here is to go back England work. Hah, good news for me because if ever i want to go there in future, i don’t have to look for place to stay.

Did you meet up with your old friends lately?

Europe anyone?

Do not know what was i thinking 10 mins ago when suddenly a thought strike me. I want to go Europe. Though now it’s impossible but one day; one day i will. Then i have a friend who went England to study for 3 months, then after she finish the 3 months of study she went around travelling around Europe. Ah! Jealous-nye

She went to Venice, Rome, Spain, Paris.. etc Then i was looking through Wikitravel (very useful web for anyone who want to plan their holidays), so many things to see in those countries!

I like to see the historical buildings, i want to see Colosseum, Roman Forum, Sagrada Familia, San Marco, Rialto Bridge.. so much to see! Different time of the year they have different festivals as well, like in Barcelona they have a festival called Festes de le Merce where they have live music, fireworks, wooden giant, with heavy consumption of Cava their national drink.

Then they also have Festes de Gracia, then i went to google the pictures of these 2 festivals, it’s so interesting!

Italy itself already have so many cities and districts to visit, same to Spain. Maybe should start intensive saving plan for 3 years. Maybe 4, or 5…

edit: the other day i was counting how much do i need to backpack to Europe. I heard from my friend that her friend backpack to Europe (not sure which/how many country the person went) and the total cost was RM 10k. So i was estimating, if i were to save RM 15k in 5 years, so one month i need to save RM 250. Can be done wat! If that particular month i don’t use much, can save more than that also. No need 5 years maybe can go adi.

Europe anyone?

back from camp

Just came back from my church youth camp; Camp Transformation in Eagle Ranch, PD.

It’s a very tiring camp but towards the last 2 days it’s not so hectic, at least i have some time to sit down and rest. Before this camp there was a lot of things that were in my mind and it seems like i have tons of things to do but i do not know where to start.

I think the age is showing proof that i need to set reminders here and there, because during the camp i realized that i forgotten to do quite a few things. Ended up in quite a mess and not as what i intend it to be. for the first 2 days i have totally forgotten to send people to help out for the breakfast as there were other things in my mind the night before so Ada will have to call me up for 2 mornings to ask where is my people. It’s too early, so have to get up on my own.

Then the days pass through meaningfully and i was able to really get myself to enjoy as much as i can and to involve with my members as much as possible. Through this camp i get to know a few members even more and i didn’t know that Chiaw Ying and Zun Zhang can talk a lot! Before i chat with them i always have this impression that they are very quiet. Well, no lor…

Then there was this game called Beyond Limits; which is this year’s theme for PYP. The girls are suppose to group in 3 and 2 of them are to carry 1 girl on top and walk as much as possible. Sound simple? Yes. Doing it? No. I hurt my left arm at the end of this game, the upper arm was bruised, lower arm swollen a little bit. Yes, is that extreme okay. Others was limping, another the whole body can’t move for 2 days. When i say can’t move, really can’t. She have to sit in bed for 2 days.

The guys are even worse, they have to do death crawl. So am not going to compain as much. The purpose of the game is not to torture us but totest our perseverance. To see how long can we stand united as a group. When i see my members striving their best to walk this path, me ended up the person to slow them down and making them almost lose the morale, felt that i am not doing my job. Then a brother reminded me one thing, that each one of us have different limits. Not everyone have the same kind of limit as God created us differently. And it’s through bearing with each other’s weaknesses where we find unity.

It’s a question of are we willing to go 1 step further for God and for His people. Sometimes a lot of us are limiting ourselves to a lot of things. Somehow somewhere out inner self tell us that we can’t. But when we try to go 1 step further, we see that it’s a whole different thing. In all this, it’s not by our own strengths but God. This camp have really taught me a lot of things, that sometimes we shouldn’t ask the question why but to just do it (me no Nike spokesperson, haha). The more we ask, the more we are not going to go 1 step further.

So now, refresh from camp. I am more focus, more clear about a lot of things. In camp, got some brothers come and ask me why i so stress. Haha, i guess am not very good at hiding it or they are just too smart. To answer your question, because i felt that i have not done enough.

I told a few people, that i always end up with a new commander and not the old ones. I always wanted to be same group with the old commanders (as in more than 1 year) because i want to know how it feels like and what is the experience. Hoping to learn some stuff from them. Unfortunately, God do not think so. For the past 3 years am with a new commander. So am still trying to figure out what God is trying to tell me. Not that i can’t learn things from them, but i am sure there is something that God want to tell me. Yet to figure out what.

Anyway, after i came back from camp, the next day i has an accident. I accidentally step on a 3 pin plug. Don’t ask me why, i do not know. Accident have no reason. So, part of the skin came off, and started bleeding. I put plasteron hoping it will stop bleeding but it didn’t. So yesterday i was telling Vince about it and he told me to go see doctor and get tetanus jab. So i went to see the doctor yesterday, hoping he will not ask me to take the jab. But he said i better take it, just in case.

So i have no choice but to take the jab. Haih. The doc gave me some med for the wound and now am limping because the wound is near the heel, so am putting pressure on the toes so i could walk properly. Campers limp during camp, i limp after camp.

Haih. When will the wound recover… When o when…

finally! Day 2 Part II

Finally! I can finally update my blog freely! So what was I waiting previously?
Remember I mentioned that I went to PC fair? I bought Dell Inspiron 1420 - Espresso Brown!
I’d been waiting for it for weeks and it’s finally here! I got it last week, so I was looking high and low for the softwares I wanted and installed it. So now it’s all done… =D I shall call it Espresso (so yeng right!? Say yes.)
——————-
So, on my second day trip to Hong Kong. We went to walk along the Avenue of Stars (for some unknown reason, i always call it Arena of Stars. Can anyone tell me why?) They have loads of hand prints of the famous actors, actresses, directors, singers, comedians. At first i wanted to take all of it, but some i really don’t know who so i didn’t take all. I only take those that i know and not all of it have hand prints on it. So these are a few that you might know…

Photobucket
Jackie Chan, you all know who right… The one acted in Forbidden Kingdom as one of the immortals

Photobucket
Michael Hui, the comedian… Should watch his talk show, really very funny

Photobucket
Tony Leung, he won a lot of best actor awards and he is one of my favorite actor

Photobucket
Jet Li, from pure China to speaking English fluently. Should really watch him act in Forbidden Kingdom, the fighting scenes are so nice!

Photobucket
Maggie Cheung, not sure whether she retired because i no longer see her act nowadays

Photobucket
Yuen Wo Ping, he was one the famous director in movies like Drunken Master in the 1970s. Later he is very well known as the choreographer/fight advisor in popular movies like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Matrix, Kill Bill, Kung Fu Hustle, Fearless, Forbidden Kingdom.

Photobucket
The Four Kings in the music industry; Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, Leon Lai and Aaron Kwok. They are now replaced by the younger generations.

After that we went to watch the Light Show at the same place, so we sat there and waited for the show to start. I took video and before i know it, the memory card is full. So i deleted some of the pictures that are blur and took some pictures of the show.

Photobucket

After the show we went to have steamboat dinner at a really cool place! It’s called “Xiu Min Yeung” but not sure what is the restaurant’s name in English.

Photobucket
So cute!

So, the steamboat is Hong Kong is nothing like ours where we basically throw whatever we can into the bowl and wait for it to cook then eat. In this shop, it is completely different! Oh, I must say this. We ordered a pot of hot chrysanthemum tea and in KL, some of us will add some sugar. So when i told the waitress to add some sugar, she gave me a look. I think there they don’t do this. So anyway, this is what they serve for steamboat!

Photobucket
am not kidding. This is their dinner set. Maybe they have other combinations as well but this is good enough.

They have fish, scallop, oyster, squid, vege, prawns.. etc Yumm….

Photobucket
Beef and Lamb meat!

This restaurant is famous for their lamb meat and really, whoever that like lamb meat, you should try it! It’s very nice! The taste plus the soup. Yes! the soup!

Photobucket

The spicy soup is not really spicy, don’t be fooled by the color. The herbal soup is really nice, you can actually see the herbal floating. In KL, the steamboat soup will be nice half way during the meal but this, the soup is nice even from the start. You imagine the taste galf way through dinner, and plus, we had seafood platter… It’s as though we are having seafood herbal soup! Yum!

We went back to our place after the dinner because we want to get as much rest as we can for the program the next day which is…

Photobucket
Weeeeee!! *excited*

hold on

long silence. i’m waiting for something to arrive so that i can fully update everyday. too many pictures living in my thumbdrive and i have yet to transfer it out. good news is, the thing is arriving tomorrow in my office!! i’ve been waiting for 10 days, 11 if include today. the person called me and say monday they will bring in, i asked whether it can be done today or not, they say not because it is arriving from Penang only today. so they suggest tomorrow, without any hesitation i said yes (though am not working tomorrow). they will send it before 1pm, so before i go church i will drop by to pick it up.

a friend said he never see me like this before, so impatient and excited over something like that. he said even my trip to hong kong i wasn’t like this. hmm, nola, where got. i was very excited about hong kong mah, you don’t know only.

anyway, i was reading one of my college friend’s blog yesterday. i always like reading his blog because he take nice very nice pictures. he have not been updating much, i thought he forget all about his blog because he is always busy. then finally he posted! so now i know, he is posting his pictures in Flickr. i like the pictures he took, all of it.

go check it out when you are free:

a short break

A short break from the HK post. I was browsing about transformers in Youtube then slowly it leads to wikipedia. So i found out that Transformers 2 is releasing next year. Yay!!

It’s called Transformers 2: The Reign of Starscream (remember the ending of transformers the movie, Starscream retrieve?)

So ya, weeee!!! *excited*

Oh, PC fair is coming up, so i’ll be going to there coming Friday! (after work la of course.) Anyone wanna join?

Day 2: Part I

Alright. Due to the problems i have with the host, will post pictures only and come back next week to edit the story. Darn photobucket! From now on, it’s Flickr!

And so, Day 2 came and we had our breakfast at the hotel. I thought their breakfast is not going to be okay, but it turns out to be alright after all. The pancake and scramble egg is quite nice. =D

Photobucket

After our breakfast, we proceed to start our journey to the city! Below picture is the main road (i already started to miss the place.)
to some of you: No, not the Hong Kong guys okay.

Photobucket

Actually, after the breakfast at the hotel we were heading to another restaurant to have the Dim Sum. So as we walk i was looking around, taking pictures of old buildings, the shops, just anything. And after about 15 mins of walking we reach the so called old restaurant that only the locals will go. The restaurant is 4 stories high. The 1st floor is the entrance, 2nd and 3rd floor is the restaurant, and the 4th floor i guess it’s their store room.

Once we sat down, i look around me and wala! All old people, reading newspaper, enjoying the hot Chinese tea, eating their favorite dim sum and chatting away with old friends.

Photobucket

So here is what we ordered! =D

Photobucket

1) Thousand-Layered cake (”chin chang gou”)
2) Cheong Fun (surprisingly, our “hong kong chee cheong fun” is nicer! weird.)
3) Braised Duck Leg with Yam and Fu Chuk (don’t understand why they love yam so much)
4) Fu Chuk (quite oily, the taste is alright)
5) Wu Gok (inside is yam with pork)
6) Siew Mai (nice!)
7) Chi Mai (still think ours taste better) 8) Char Siew Pau (uuu… nice!)
9) Ha Gau (love this!)

Photobucket

Photobucket

After the meal i took a picture of their kitchen.

Photobucket

Oh, you know those Hong Kong show (be it movie or sitcoms), when they go to restaurants to eat dim sum there will be people pushing the trolley and said “ha gau! siew mai! ha gau! siew mai!”. Yeah, it’s not fake.

After the meal we walk more and one of the things that we were not used to is seeing Chinese working in construction site, or the Chinese DBKL. We walk a few blocks then YeeLing saw this place that sell double layer milk. Apparently it’s quite famous so we went in and eat (again, notice in a short time we had 3 meals?) I don’t fancy milk, so at first i didn’t want to try. After they convince me, i tried the cold one. And ya, i still don’t like milk.

Photobucket

Oh, before we walk into the shop we saw some policeman so one of us (not me okay) decided to take a picture with them. The HK policeman is fit, unlike ours. (you know what i mean?)

Then we proceed to buy the Octopus card. It’s like our TouchN’Go card but you can use it in train, bus, 7-eleven and any place that have the service. I couldn’t remember which is the first place we go but ya, their MTR station is clean and most importantly, the train came ON TIME.

Photobucket

Their MTR station reminds me of Singapore. There’s this one part where we must take the tunnel in order to get to the other side of the road. One of the things i like about HK is, there are directions EVERYWHERE! For example, (the below picture)

Photobucket

We also met another of YeeLing’s friend, Raymond. He brought us to their local cafe to have lunch. So here is what we ordered.

Photobucket

After lunch, he brought us around and explaining to us the history behind some of the buildings. He’s like our tour guide! He brought us to look at some of the famous buildings, banks. I like the architecture there, each building have its own special design. He also brought us to come of the shopping complex, just to show us around. Then i saw the below ad,

Photobucket

Very nice right!

Photobucket

One of the random shot i took while we were taking the ferry. Another special thing about HK will be the decorations. Flowers are everywhere! It’s not just half-dead flowers but it’s really pretty and suddenly i felt like i’m looking at flowers in Cameron Highlands.

Photobucket

Photobucket

We took this transportation! Raymond taught us how to take this bus to another station to take the trem to The Peak (one of of destination we will go). This transportation is cheap! HK$2 only i think.

Photobucket

Then, taxis are everywhere! Unlike here, sometimes we have to wait for ages for 1 taxi.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Then as we discover the city, i saw this road name.

Photobucket

Then, we went toilet in one of the shopping complex. In the cubicle, next to me i saw this!

Photobucket

It’s toilet seat cleaner!!! 0_0

We were walking so much until i do not know where i was going. I was just following, taking pictures, amazed at some of the things i see, wow-ing at really nice architecture and so on. Then we reach at this places called the Golden something-something. If you have watch the New Police Story, there’s an ending part where by Jackie Chan and Daniel Wu was on top of a building with Nicholas Tse dangling half way out of the building. Ya, there la

Photobucket

Photobucket

Prosecuted… hmm…

Photobucket

Photobucket

Then we saw people filming! =D

Photobucket

The guy is not famous but he acted in quite a number of show. The girls are popular but i do not know the name. Just know the face only. Esther told me yesterday, when we saw them they are actually filming a show and Moses Chan is suppose to be there! No, he was there just that we did not see him only. What la!

Photobucket

Stay Tune.

rants

*some really dumb thing happen yesterday and i didn’t manage to do the things i plan to do. assumption do you no good. do not judge by the outlook and ask to get an answer. i was silence doesn’t mean i agree with you, is that i do not want to argue with you because it will lead to no where. at the end of the day, i will still be the one who have to give up. so ya, do not think you are right just because i didn’t say anything and let you do the things you want to do. if you were to notice, most of the occasion i let you do the things you want to do*

Simple Plan - Welcome To My Life

Do you ever feel like breaking down?
Do you ever feel out of place?
Like somehow you just don’t belong
And no one understands you
Do you ever wanna run away?
Do you lock yourself in your room?
With the radio on turned up so loud
That no one hears you screaming

No you don’t know what it’s like
When nothing feels alright
You don’t know what it’s like
To be like me

To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you’re down
To feel like you’ve been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one’s there to save you
No you don’t know what it’s like
Welcome to my life
